"DeepDRIVE Games" First Blog & Aetherdrift Prerelease!

Howdy-ho, all Deep Dive Denizens! To the first entry in your favorite game stores blog, you can expect some exciting news about this Friday’s pre-release event! Even though pre-orders were delayed, all signs point to a big turnout similar to our previous Innistrad Remastered release. This time around, Aetherdrift will be Standard legal, which is definitely something to look forward to! The long-awaited set with a Mad Max and racing feel is ready to shake up the format with new cards like "The Aetherspark", and the “Speed” mechanic! 

For Friday’s event we are hosting a pre-release sealed event with great prizes. You will get one pack for every round you win and two extra packs for first place. You can win up to six packs in total. This format gives you a chance to try out the new cards and strategies while adding to your collection and improving your deck building skills. To add to the excitement we have put together a racing-inspired playlist with our favourite race related bangers, and we will also be starting Deep Dive Games LIVE game streams on Twitch. 

Now onto the new mechanic, Speed. When you control a permanent with the ability “Start your engines!” for the first time, your speed is set to one. Fun thing about this is that even if someone were to try and use a removal spell, since your speed is set instantly it can’t be interrupted. Then, throughout the game if your speed is less than four every time an opponent loses life your speed goes up by one once per turn. Once you reach the maximum speed of four, some cards will trigger special abilities, for example the card Streaking Oilgorger, which gains lifelink upon max speed!

Finishing up with the main additions that this set is adding ,there are a few cards that you should be looking for, being The Aetherspark, Monument of Endurance, and Unstoppable Plan. These three cards are going to be the initial bee’s knees, so keeping an eye out as you open your first few packs is going to be the way to go. So if you are to join our pre-release this Friday, you should keep these cards in mind!

Pre-orders are now available with bundles, play boosters, preconstructed commander decks, and collector booster boxes. Currently, Finish Line Bundles are limited to one per customer. With a sick new racing theme and new game mechanic, Aetherdrift is shaping up to be an event you should not miss.
